At Nyanza Mines, our roots run deep within the Uvinza community, and our commitment extends far beyond salt production.

We believe in creating a positive impact that supports the local economy and enhances the quality of life for residents. Our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives are designed to foster sustainable growth and improve infrastructure for the community that has been our home for nearly a century.

As part of our commitment, we are proud to support the local community through key initiatives:

River Crossing: We provide a free river crossing service on the Malagarasi River, offering safe and reliable transportation for the public.

Job Creation: We are a significant local employer, providing temporary employment to over 1,000 laborers during the salt harvesting season.

The Malagarasi River, which is central to our operations and a lifeline for the community, is a natural wonder in western Tanzania. It flows in a vast, circular course for approximately 250 miles (450 km), meandering through extensive swamps before returning to Lake Tanganyika. This unique waterway is a vital resource, and we are dedicated to being a responsible steward of the environment and the community it supports.
